Aleppo, Syriens näst största stad, handels- och finansiellt centrum vid Medelhavet, står inför en avgörande strid.
Här kan al-Assads öde avgöras, för trots ett militärt övertag av stora mått så kan det mycket väl bli så att slaget om Aleppo visar att den Fria syriska armén är så välorganiserad, så rörlig och framför allt välutrustad med lätta vapen att deras mobilitet klarar såväl flygbombardemang som stridsvagnsartilleri utöver al-Assads soldater.
Gör de det så blir tvivlarna fler och avhoppen från regimen ökar.
De som får lida mest är civilbefolkning, för här visar al-Assads trupper ingen hänsyn, här skjuts det rakt in i bostadskvarteren eller varhelst en "terrorist" är upptäckt.

Många tycker att han hör hemma där, med allt det blod han har på sina händer så är platsen, i mitt tycke, lite väl lyxig.
Aleppo is holding it´s breath, for the final battle. This the second-largest city in Syria has been the scene of fierce fighting for six days and are now bracing for an attack.
The regime are pulling together massive reinforcements to retake the city of 3 million.
But, don´t be so sure, the lightly-armed Free Syrian Army is very mobile, and with a bit of luck they can survive bombardment from tanks and helicopters. The ones that can´t are all the civilians that haven´t fled the city yet.
A possible massacre of civilians is, God forbid, very close. The regime shows no mercy what so ever, they are desperate not to lose the grip of the country and kill whatever crosses their path.
Let us hope that al-Assads troops fail to take the city, that would probably force the regime much closer to the brink of a collapse.
And al-Assad will at last find himself on a heap of rubbish.
