The longest 747 flight in the world.

The airport fire brigade salutes the first Qantas jet to land at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport

This isn´t exactly breaking news, it´s 747 news.

Qantas started on May 15 this year their longest Boeing 747 route in the world.

Their flight QF 7 takes you from Sydney to Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas, a massive 13,804 kilometres to be precise and the scheduled flying time is 15 hours and 25 minutes.

This is the third longest flight across the world, only Newark to Singapore (15,327 km) flown by Airbus 440-400 and Singapore to LA (14,090 km) are longer, also this flight is an Airbus 440-400.

Qantas decided to cease their flights to San Francisco in favour of the Texas big cities.

Qantas operates Boeing 747-400 ER (Extended Range) on this route.
